Populo Surfshop — Surf services

Populo SurfShop is a local family-run surf shop which has been a go-to place for locals and visitors looking for surf rentals, lessons, equipment and Azorean surf brands.

Founded by Marco, one of the first generations of surfers in the Azores and now managed by his daughter, who was also part of the first crew of female surfers of the region, the shop is known for its friendly atmosphere, honest advice, fair prices and local knowledge. Alongside surf essentials and international brands, the place supports Azorean artists and local brands, offering unique jewellery, clothing, and gifts made and inspired by island life.

The philosophy is simple: work with locals instructors, artists, and brands to offer visitors an authentic Azorean surf experience while supporting ocean conservation and promoting a more sustainable relationship with the sea as part of the Azores Sea Alliance.
